Hugo Miguel Rodriguez

The Servant of God Hugo Miguel Rodriguez passed onto Our Lord on March 10, 2022 in Houston, Texas.
He was born on October 24, 1963 in San Pedro Sula, Honduras to Mrs. Alicia Marina Rodriguez and Mr. Hugo Rene Neslin. He graduated from the Escuela Rural Presentación Centeno; and afterwards, as an employee of an Italian Company, arrived in New York in the late 1980’s. Work also brought him to Texas where he met and married Julieta Maria Bengochea of Pasadena Texas. Five years later, the Lord blessed them with their baby girl Juliana Alicia – the light of his eyes! At that time he also completed a University of Houston HVAC technical program and enjoyed working alongside his many friends/coworkers at Harris County and the City of Houston’s Solid Waste Dept.  Hugo loved joking around, listening to music, dancing, writing poetry for his beloved wife of 26 years Julie and following Barcelona Soccer with his nephews. He was a devout Catholic-being a parishioner of St. John Vianey, usher at St. Thomas More Catholic Church for several years, and was fervently devoted to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. He had a committed kindness for his brethren and was a certified Universal Blood Donor for the Houston Blood Bank. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Nelson Duarte and uncle Ruben of Honduras; his father-in-law Dr. Enrique Bengochea, brothers-in-law Enrique and Frank Bengochea and uncle Osvaldo Trujillo of Houston. Hugo is survived by his wife Julie, daughter Juliana and his mother-in-law Julieta Bengochea of Houston. He is furthermore survived by a loving extended family of: his sisters-in-law Maria Regina, Maria Teresa and Mary Bengochea and Dr. Giovanna Figueredo (Tim) along with their children: Isabella, Michael Carver (Ilicia), Alex, Mariana and Enrique. Also cousins Osvaldo and Libertad Trujillo; and Dr. Dunia and Elie Haddad and their families. His Honduras sister-in-law Hilda Guerrero “Shelly”, nephews Suboficial Comando III C.I.N. Nelson Duarte (wife Lety and their daughter Alice Nichole), Javier Elidima Duarte (Riccy Sarmiento) and uncles Alejandro, Alfredo and Marcial Murillo-Rodriguez, also cousin’s Phillip Laraway, Osvaldo. May He Rest in Eternal Peace.
