In Loving Memory of Gregoria Garza

Gregoria Vargas Garza, our beloved mother, grandmother, great – grandmother, and great – great grandmother our matriarch, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 11, 2025. Born on March 12, 1940, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, she later met and married Venancio Garza Villarreal. Together, they began their family in Mexico, welcoming four children before moving to the United States in McAllen, Texas, and had another child lived there two years and moved to Houston, Texas, where their family grew with one more child a baby girl. Altogether three boy’s and three girl’s. Though life brought challenges, Gregoria remained steadfast — a devoted mother and hardworking woman who built her home and her family’s foundation through faith, perseverance, and love. God’s hand was evident in every chapter of her life, and He blessed her greatly through her children: Venancio Jr., Olga Lydia, Mauro, Amaro, Sylvia, and Antonia. She was also blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.

Gregoria’s life was marked by her deep faith, resilience, and love for her family. Around the age of 37 she rededicated her life to Jesus Christ and lived that truth with grace and conviction for the rest of her days. As a deacon and prayer warrior, she led her family and countless others to faith, becoming the spiritual foundation of generations. She was the heart of her family — known for her strength, generosity, compassion, and fervent prayers. Her legacy of faith will live on in every family member and every life she touched. Her fear of the Lord, her unshakable love for Him, and even her joyful love for corritos will echo through our hearts forever. Though we will miss her deeply, we rejoice knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior — dancing, singing, and rejoicing in eternal peace.
