Jack H. Wilson, Sr. Obituary
Jack Herbert Wilson, Sr, 87 of Richmond, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 3, 1938 to John M. and Frances V. Wilson. A man who invariably had a joke or story to share, Jack lived a full and blessed life. He graduated from North Texas State College with a Bachelor’s in Business and began his career working as a sales representative for several different oil companies. Mid-life he decided to switch things up and became a stock broker. In the last stage of his career, he worked in the finance department for several different automotive dealerships in San Antonio and Houston. Being actively involved in his children’s lives was important to Jack, so you would often find him the coach of his son’s baseball team or volunteering to serve a meal to the youth at University United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In February of 1990, he married Gloria Elizabeth Payales and the two of them created a beautiful blended family. Throughout his life, Jack has always taken pleasure in cooking, whether it was making “smack you lips” waffles, barbequing, or boiling crawfish in the backyard. He was a consummate cook who enjoyed entertaining and feeding his family and friends. Always ready for an adventure, Jack enjoyed traveling and seeing all of the wonders of our world with his family. His final passion was to cheer on the University of Texas Longhorns, Louisiana State University Tigers, or any of his other favorite teams to the hoped for victory. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sister Juanita, and daughter- in- law, Laura Wilson. Beloved family he leaves behind are his wife of 35 years, Gloria; his children Lucinda Wilson Wood (Kenneth) and Jack H. Wilson, Jr.; his stepchildren Antonette Munsayac (Roland) and Ann Lizette Samson (Lloyd); and seven grandchildren Cassandra (Kyle), Joshua, Ryan, Lauren, Aidan, Aly, and Reagan. Jack touched many lives with his quiet strength, generosity, and enduring love for his family and the Lord. Your prayers, presence, and support are deeply appreciated. Visitation will begin at 3:00 with the funeral service starting at 5:00 on June 12, 2025 at Leal Funeral Home, 11123 Katy Freeway, Houston. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on June 13, 2025 at Forest Park Southwest Cemetery in Richmond, Texas.
