On Sunday, February 22, 2026, Jose R. Lozano passed away peacefully at his home in League City, TX with his wife and children at his bedside.
Having passed just a few days after his 78th birthday, Jose left behind a legacy of a long and wonderful life filled with his family, friends, and love. Jose was no stranger to travel and adventure, evidenced by his many years RVing across the country in multiple travel trailers and Class A motorhomes, his regular cruise ship excursions along the coasts of the US, Central America, and Europe, and his countless road trips over the years—for which he was known to spontaneously gather up his wife and kids.
Jose grew up in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, before moving to Chicago as a teen, where he met and married his wife, Blanca. Together, they raised a family of five mainly in South Houston, TX. If you knew Jose, you knew he was a kind man who was quick to befriend anyone. You could always find him working creatively in his garage, on his RVs or his many home projects. He valued meaningful relationships, respected others, and earned high regard. But mostly, you knew Jose as someone who worked hard for his family and gave everything to them.
Especially into his 60s and 70s, Jose, a proud U.S. Army Veteran who fought in Vietnam, wore one of his Veteran’s hats everywhere he went. The family is grateful for the care and support shown to Jose these last several years by friends, and especially the VA.
Jose’s legacy of love and hard work lives on through his devoted wife of 55 years, Blanca. He remains a guiding light for his children: Sidney (Iris), Renato (Sonia), Veronica (Andrew) Orozco, David, and Michael (Hope). His spirit will continue to shine in his ten grandchildren: Annabelle, Gabriel, Emily, Sophia, Mia, Tony, Nicholas, Lucas, Mateo, and Bianca. He also leaves behind his siblings—Juan, Maria, and Enrique—along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss him dearly.
