Jamie Antonio Gonzalez Alas, born on November 27, 1961, in San Salvador, El Salvador, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and generosity. He is survived by his sons, Ulises Gonzalez, Eric Murcia and his wife Belinda Murcia, and their children Anthony, Andrea, her daughter Avery, Michael and Priscilla, as well as his son Henry Murcia and his partner Julissa Murcia, and their children Iris and Liam. Jamie was preceded in death by his beloved mother Maria Antonia Alas, father Jose Ascension Gonzalez, and son Oswaldo Gonzalez.
In 1980, Jamie moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked tirelessly to bring his entire family to America in pursuit of a better life. A hardworking man with an enormous heart, Jamie dedicated over 30 years to his career as a truck driver and business owner. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Jamie had a variety of passions, including playing the guitar, singing, coin collecting, and working with carpentry. He was an avid fan of American football and classic rock, and he stood firm in his support for the ideologies of the Republican party. Known for his sense of humor, Jamie was a jokester who loved making others laugh and gave everyone around him silly nicknames. A true food connoisseur, Jamie especially adored Raising Cane’s, a favorite of his.
Though he is no longer with us, Jamie’s spirit lives on in his sons, who will carry forward the love and values he instilled in them.
The service will be held Wednesday 12, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Leal Funeral Home, located at 11123 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.
Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, located at 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077
