Mario Alberto Orozco Lopez aka “Hometown”, age 50, passed away on June 19, 2025,

surrounded by this loving mother, siblings, and son.

Mario was born in Laredo, Texas on March 11, 1975 to Basilio Jesús Orozco Lechuga and
Tomasa Lopez Macias. He was a glass contractor by trade. His hands-on skills were
matched only by his creativity, as he took joy in painting, drawing and crafting projects of

all kinds including his one-of-kind custom t-shirts.

Mario is survived by 5 siblings: Toby, Claudia, Marco, Raquel, Karina; his 2 children:
Brianna, John and step-daughter Christy; and 10 nephews: Mayra, Jesse, Edgar, Isaac,
Adrian, Eli, Luka, Abraham, Olivia and Arabella and friends who were like family to him.
He also leaves behind his cherished fur-babies: Molly, Chapo and Summer.
Mario was preceded in death by his grandparents, Basilio Orozco and Antonia Lechuga;

Refugio Lopez and Dionicia Macias and father, Basilio Jesús Orozco.

Without a doubt, Mario will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his humor, kind
heart, generosity, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and community. Although he
may be gone, his love and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The Orozco Lopez family gives its sincerest thanks for the outpour of love, support and

condolences received during this difficult time.

In honor of Mario’s memory, a celebration of life will be held at Leal Funeral Home, 708
College Ave, South Houston, Texas, on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 3:00PM – 9:00PM

and Friday, June 27, 2025 1:00PM – 3:00PM.
