Nicholas Brent Mejía, nacido el 20 de agosto de 2003 en Houston, Texas, falleció a la edad de 22 años el 3 de junio de 2026, dejando una profunda y duradera huella en todos quienes lo conocieron y amaron.
Nick fue el amado hijo de Marsha Reynoso y Pedro Mejía, y el querido hermano de Gigi Mejía. Su familia era el centro de su mundo, y llevaba su amor consigo en todo lo que hacía.
Desde muy joven, Nick era conocido por su energía y espíritu. Tenía una pasión por la vida que se reflejaba en las cosas que más amaba, especialmente los deportes. Era un ferviente aficionado del Real Madrid, los Seattle Seahawks y los Houston Rockets, siempre al tanto de los partidos y compartiendo su entusiasmo con quienes lo rodeaban.
La música era otro de los grandes amores de Nick. Era increíblemente talentoso; tocaba la batería, la guitarra eléctrica y la trompeta, y encontraba alegría al expresarse a través de la música. Ya fuera practicando o simplemente tocando por diversión, la música era una parte esencial de quien era. Nick también disfrutaba pasar tiempo jugando videojuegos, donde podía relajarse, conectar con otras personas y simplemente disfrutar.
Quienes conocieron a Nick lo recordarán como una persona humilde, cariñosa, divertida e inteligentemente natural. No siempre era el centro de atención, pero cuando asistía a reuniones sociales, su presencia era inconfundible. Con su dulzura y sentido del humor, tenía la capacidad de iluminar cualquier lugar, hacer reír a los demás y dejar una impresión duradera en muy poco tiempo.
Nick será profundamente extrañado por sus padres, su hermana y todos aquellos que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo. Su recuerdo vivirá en las risas que compartió, la música que interpretó y el amor que brindó con tanta generosidad. La familia desea expresar su más sincero agradecimiento y aprecio por todas las oraciones, el cariño y el apoyo que han recibido durante este difícil momento.
Querido Nik, conocerte fue un regalo en mi vida, platicar contigo tu serenidad difundía paz, confianza y alegría, cocinar una salsa por que la disfrutaste eso llenaba mi corazón hacerlo con cariño para la familia pero también para alguien más especial, lamento mucho no haber compartido más contigo, fue corto el tiempo pero fue suficiente para amarte. Ya estás en un mejor lugar donde todo es paz, y tranquilidad como tu sonrisa. Te quiero Nik siempre te recordaré, hasta pronto.

Te fuiste demasiado pronto, pero los recuerdos que dejaste en la vida de tus
familiares y amigos vivirán para siempre en nuestros corazones. Estabas lleno de
vida, alegría y una energía que hacía especiales todos los momentos que se
pasaban contigo. A través de los años, fuiste más que mi primo; fuiste mi amigo.
Nos unían tantas cosas como por ejemplo tu inmensa admiración por el Real Madrid,
nuestras horas de videojuegos y esas pláticas sencillas sobre la vida que hoy
recuerdo con una sonrisa y un profundo cariño. Cuando Scarlett y yo comenzamos a
planear nuestra boda, fuiste uno de los primeros en mis pensamientos y te pedí que
fueras parte de ese día tan especial por la bonita amistad que compartíamos.
Aunque te reservaste en aceptar, sabía que estarías ahí celebrando con nosotros,
como siempre lo hacías con las personas que querías.
Nos duele profundamente saber que no podrás acompañarnos ese día. Te
extrañaremos mucho y llevaremos tu memoria con nosotros. Sé que ahora, desde el
Reino de los Cielos, sigues regalando esa alegría y esa sonrisa que tanto bien
hacían a quienes te conocieron. Espero volver a verte algún día para regalarte un
fuerte abrazo y compartir nuevamente juntos.

I had the pleasure of meeting you, and although we didn’t spend a lot of time together, every moment we shared showed me the kind of person you were. You were always kind, respectful, and genuinely caring. You would always take the time to talk, whether it was about life, my kids, or just simple everyday things. I’m truly grateful that I had the opportunity to know you.
I also want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a great friend to Selvin. One memory that always makes me smile is seeing him playing Call of Duty and laughing while talking through his headset. I would ask him who he was talking to, and the answer was always the same—it was you. He always spoke of you as his gaming partner, his buddy, and a friend he truly valued.
You left us far too soon, but your light will never fade. You were the kind of person who brightened every room with your smile and positive spirit. I don’t think I ever saw you angry; you always carried joy and kindness with you. Everyone who had the privilege of meeting you was touched by that light.
