In Loving Memory of
Celso Andrew “Drew” Flores Bustamante
December 29, 1977 – August 31, 2026
Celso Andrew Flores Bustamante, affectionately known to everyone as “Drew,” passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2026, at the age of 48.
Drew loved life. Like all of us, he experienced his share of struggles and difficult seasons, but those struggles never erased the qualities that made him so special to the people who knew and loved him.
Drew was a people person. He could talk to just about anybody. He had a natural ability to strike up a conversation, make a connection, and before long, make a friend. He was funny, witty, extremely intelligent, and always seemed to have something to say that could make you laugh or think.
Drew was also curious by nature. He enjoyed learning new things, even if that meant sitting with his phone and figuring something out for himself. He loved to cook, enjoyed painting, loved animals and pets, and was always willing to work with his hands. He was a hard worker who especially enjoyed family projects and simply doing things together.
Some of the best memories of Drew are found in those ordinary moments—family gatherings, cooking, working on projects, laughing, telling stories, and just being together.
Drew also loved to travel and work alongside his dad. The two of them shared experiences on the road that became stories our family will continue telling for years to come. Drew loved his father deeply, and when Dad passed away on August 31, 2025, Drew took that loss especially hard.
Exactly one year later, on August 31, 2026, Drew passed away.
There is something incredibly difficult about that date now carrying the loss of both a father and a son. Yet there is also comfort for our family in imagining that after missing his dad so deeply, Drew and Dad are together again—and knowing the two of them, they probably already have some new stories to tell.
Above so many things, Drew loved his family.
He dearly loved his daughter, Azalea Alize Flores, and treasured his grandchildren, Luna Amor, Sol Corazón “Sonny,” and Elyssa Flores. If Drew could leave them with one message, we believe he would want them to know that they were, and always will be, the apple of his eye. He loved them more than words could adequately express, and that love does not disappear because he is no longer physically here.
Drew is survived by his loving mother, Elida Bustamante; his siblings, Jennifer Bustamante Garcia, Janie Lee Bustamante Lopez, Juan F. Bustamante III, David Lee Bustamante, Jesse Lee Bustamante, and Jamie Bustamante; as well as 18 nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved and adored.
To Drew, family was more than a relationship—it was time spent together, laughter shared, projects worked on, meals prepared, stories told, and memories made.
Drew was preceded in death by his beloved father, Juan F. Bustamante Jr.; his maternal grandparents, Celso and Mary Flores; and his paternal grandparents, Juan Bustamante and Esperanza Bustamante.
Those who knew Drew will remember the things that made him uniquely himself—his sense of humor, his intelligence, his conversations, his love of cooking, his love for animals, his enjoyment of painting and learning new things, his favorite color blue, his love for Popeyes, and the way he could turn an ordinary gathering into a memory.
But more than anything, we will remember Drew himself.
A son.
A father.
A grandfather.
A brother.
An uncle.
A family man.
A friend.
His life was not defined by perfection. It was defined by the people he loved, the people who loved him, the memories he created, the laughter he left behind, and the place he will forever hold in our family.
Drew, there are things we wish we had more time to say, more memories we wish we had time to make, and more laughter we wish we could share.
But we are grateful for the 48 years God allowed us to have you.
We will tell your stories. We will laugh when we remember the things you did. We will keep your memory alive for your children and grandchildren. And when we see the color blue, eat some Popeyes, cook something good, work on a family project, or hear one of those stories about you and Dad, we will smile and think of you.
We love you, Drew. We miss you deeply, brother. Your stories will continue to be told, your laughter will continue to be remembered, and your name will continue to be spoken in our family. You will forever remain in our hearts.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18
