Ernestina Rojas de la O

February 16, 1933 – January 14, 2024

Ernestina Rojas de la O, 90, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at her home in Houston, TX surrounded by her loved ones. 

Ernestina was born on February 16, 1933, in Ocopulco Chiautla, Edo de Mexico. She is preceded in death by Elias Ramos Ramos, her beloved husband of 63 years, her mother Paz de La O Ramos, her father Leopoldo Rojas Diaz, her siblings Juana Rojas de la O and Irene Rojas de la O, and her great-grandson Andrew Eric Rivera. She is survived by her 10 children, Rolando, Angela, Elias, Maria Concepción, Irma, Luis, Javier, Elsa, Pedro y Eva, 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. 

She will be remembered for being a woman of faith and for being a warm and kindhearted soul as well as a tireless fighter, but mostly for the genuine and caring love she had for her family. She has left us a void, but she will remain in our hearts and memories forever. May the Lord keep you in Heaven. Rest in peace Ernestina Rojas de La O.  

A memorial service will be held honoring her life on Tuesday, January 30th at the Leal Funeral Home located at 11123 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079.  Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The burial service will be held in Mexico.
