Matias Arroyo

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Matias Arroyo, a beloved son,brother,Husband ,father, grandfather, great grandfather &uncle who departed this life peacefully on Feb.8.2026 surrounded by family and love. 

Matias was born on July 2,1953, in San Guillermo Guanajuato Mexico, to Antonia Duran and Antonio Arroyo. From the very beginning, Matias radiated kindness, strength, and grace. He carried these qualities with him throughout his life, touching the hearts of everyone he met. He spent his career as a dedicated Taxi driver, from 18wheels to traveling buses to even a Metro bus here In Houston where he became a resident, His compassion knew no boundaries. Matias loved to put a smile on faces no matter how he felt those who knew him knew he lived to make jokes.Matias loved oldies music cheering up and spending time with all his grandchildren. That’s what made him loved as the greatest father and grandfather. Matias was a Loving and devoted Husband to Margarita Arroyo, A Father of 7 children, Amanda Martinez, Miguel Castaneda, Angie Zuniga, Leticia Castaneda, Lilia Marquez, Orlando Castaneda & Christie Castaneda a loving grandfather of 29 grandchildren and made it to enjoy being a great grandfather to 15 great grandchildren but also an amazing brother to 6 sisters and 1 brother. His greatest joy came from being with his family, where his presence was the heart of every gathering Matias life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
