José Joya

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, on June 17, 2024.

Born on January 28th, 1959, he lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished moments. He leaves behind his loving children, Wilmer Kevin Rodriguez and Yecenia Elizabet Rodriguez and Freddy Palacios, his daughter in law, Kathy Rodriguez, his brothers Jose Blas Joya, Fidel Joya, and his sister Saturnina Joya, as well as his three adored grandchildren, Alyson Rose Rodriguez, Mason Alexander Palacios, and Adrianna Morales. He is also survived by his deceased parents, Ascension Joya and Francisca Vanegas, and  his son Roberto Carlos Rodriguez.

He was a devoted fan of the Houston Astros Baseball team and soccer, always cheering on his favorite teams with passion and enthusiasm. He was a proud patriot of El Salvador, sharing stories and memories of his homeland with those around him. His sense of humor and quick wit brought joy to all who knew him, and his love for telling jokes will always be remembered.

Among his favorite pastimes was enjoying a plate of pupusas, and trying his luck on the game room slot machines.

Though he is now reunited with his son Roberto Carlos Rodriguez in heaven, his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.

"At three o'clock in the morning, when my grandmother passed, they answered the phone and came immediately to bring her into their care. That alone meant more to us than they'll ever know. They treated us with compassion, patience, and respect — no pressure, no coldness, just genuine care."
— Daniel Rodriguez
★★★★★
"Eric and Lilly were so supportive and kept reassuring me that whenever we needed them, they would be there. Such personal attention was wonderful. They made all the arrangements so easy even when the service was in another town. We are so grateful for everything Leal did for us."
